About Amarex
CNS Voice Services Platforms Division has been quietly staking out a significant share of the large scale mission critical Customer Service Call Center market in the banking and telecommunications industries.

In addition, VSP is now an acknowledged leader in the world of Intelligent Networks and Advanced Intelligent Networks. By bringing our products and skills into the Central Office and, along with our partners, into worldwide distribution, VSP has built some of the largest Intelligent Network IVR applications in the world.

VSP was founded in 1979 as Amarex Technology, Inc., with a charter to provide computerized communication solutions. Toward that end, our first project was a credit card authorization software switch for a large money center bank. That system grew to handle over a million transactions a day during peak season.

In 1987, we designed and implemented our first Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system for another large financial institution. Starting with 48 lines, that system has grown to an enterprise wide solution, with over 1,000 ports in several locations handling multiple applications. This system now handles over 5 million calls a month.

Since that time, we have developed a full line of products and services for large inbound call centers and has designed and implemented large inbound customer service call centers for some of the largest banks in the United States.

We also have a large presence in the telecommunications industry. Starting with one installation of an order entry system for a RBOC in 1987, we now have many applications in Customer Care call centers in telecommunications companies throughout the world.

In 1992, we delivered and installed our first Intelligent Network Intelligent Peripheral (IP) to a large switch manufacturer for delivery to an overseas telephone service provider. Since then, we have become a leading provider of high capacity, high performance Intelligent Peripheral nodes, with a particular strength in Very Large Line Count (VLLC) nodes.

Strong partnership arrangements with Digital Equipment Corporation, Dialogic Corporation, DSC Corporation, and CMG Europe have taken us to the leading edge of technology, to the far reaches of the globe and have challenged us to build more robust and more capable products.

In February 1999, Amarex was acquired by Comverse Technology, Inc., a world leader in multimedia communications processing technology and products, and renamed Voice Servcies Platforms (VSP) Division of Comverse Network Systems. VSP now has access to a greater number of quality customers than ever before. Read more about the acquisition in the press release.

Through the years, VSP has established an impeccable reputation in the industry with the quality products and services it provides. But to maintain leadership, VSP will also stay at the cutting edge of technology and constantly and relentlessly improve our products to help our customers achieve distinction in call center support and telecommunication services.
